Commanding 7th Division; Order Re Move of Divisional Headquarters to Hervarre Chateau & Fauquembergues Appdx IV.The diary opens at Cavillon on 1 January 1916. 1916 is the most travelled year, 33 places against 26 in the next busiest, and is spent at Treux, Bailleul, Bertrancourt, Cavillon and Belloy. 1917 is spent at Courcelles Le Comte, Behagnies, Bertrancourt, Marieux and Courcelle Le Comte. It closes at Bevadore on 30 November 1917. Treux is where it spent longest, 151 days across six separate stays, including a single unbroken stay of 56.Trench and battlefield features named in the diary include Chateau Segard.In 1916 it is also recorded at Cavillon And Amiens, Amiens Treux, Treux Grovetown, Grovetown, Minden Post, Mericourt, Belloy Ribemont, Ribemont, Fricourt Chat and Hallencourt. In 1917 it is also recorded at Appletrees, Mory, Bretencourt, Reninghelst, Hazebrouck, Wizernes, Westoutre, Chateau Segard, Chsegard and Berthen.
