Clarke, 23rd, Infantry Brigade; Course of Instruction Infantry.The diary opens at Laventie on 1 June 1915. 1915 is spent at Morbecque, Laventie, Fleurbaix and Diary Commenced 3rd September 1915. 1916 at Sailly, Millencourt, Albert and Trenches, Morbecque and Albert & Trenches. It closes at Long Valley on 30 June 1916. Sailly is where it spent longest, 46 days, it came back to Millencourt four separate times, and the longest it stayed anywhere without moving was 31 days at Morbecque.Trench and battlefield features named in the diary include Albert and Trenches, Albert & Trenches, Henencourt Wood, Vivier Mill and Trenches and Millencourt and Trenches.In 1916 it is also recorded at Estaires, Fleurbaix, Bourdon.
