It names 34 places across 59 dated entries.Alongside the daily entries the volume carries five reports, narratives and plans and one map. Among the papers are: Report on raid; Report on raid by 2nd Devonshire Regt; Day of attack 24/4/18.The diary opens at Hursley Park on 4 November 1914. 1914 is spent at La Flinque, Pont Rirchon, Neuve de Line, Havre and Estaires. 1915 is the most travelled year, 29 places against 12 in the next busiest, and is spent at In Billets, In Trenches, Pont Rirchon, La Flinque and Le Corbet. 1916 at 2nd Battalion Devonshire Regiment. 1917 at 2nd Battalion Devonshire Regiment. 1918 at Tournai, Montieres, Roucy, In Trenches and Dravegny. 1919 at Dunkirk. It closes at Dunkirk on 19 April 1919. 2nd Battalion Devonshire Regiment is where it spent longest, 92 days across three separate stays, including a single unbroken stay of 31 and it came back to La Flinque seven separate times.Trench and battlefield features named in the diary include Trenches, Neighbourhood of Trenches and Billetsand Trenches.In 1914 it is also recorded at Neuve Berquin, La Fleque and Red Barn. In 1915 it is also recorded at Estaires, Vicinity Of Neuve Chapelle, S.W.
