Appendix I Relief orders; The attack Before Ypres; 25th Machine Gun Company. operation order No. 6; 25th Infantry Brigade instructions No. 8; Instructions in Connection with 8th Division No. G 96/30; Barrage Table for 25th Machine Gun Company Battery 'C'.The diary opens at Sercus on 30 December 1915. 1915 is spent at Sercus. 1916 at Millencourt, Vermelles, Croquoison, Burbure and Fouquereuil. 1917 is the most travelled year, 35 places against 19 in the next busiest, and is spent at Westbecourt V 14, Villars Guislain, Croquoison, Camp 12 and Rancourt. 1918 at Dead End, Irish Farm and Gauchewood. It closes at Gauchewood on 21 April 1918. Millencourt is where it spent longest, 69 days across three separate stays, it came back to Vermelles four separate times, and the longest it stayed anywhere without moving was 31 days at Croquoison.Trench and battlefield features named in the diary include Millencourt Trenches, Epinette Wood, Irish Farm and Riverside Wood.In 1916 it is also recorded at Sailly, Line of March, Flesselles, St. Gratien, Millencourt Trenches, Henencourt, Riencourt, Bethune, Camp Citadel and Sandpit.
