Among the papers are: 1/1st Cambridgeshire Regiment casualties during May 1918; Casualties during June 1918; Appendix I 1/1st Cambridgeshire Regiment report on operations August 8th 1918; 35th Infantry Brigade instructions No. 3; Amendment No. 2 to 35th Infantry Brigade instructions No. 1; 5th Royal Berks Brigade Instruction No. 1; Royal Berkshire Regiment Preliminary instructions; Appendix a to Accompany 35th Infantry Brigade instructions No. 3 of 15th November 1917; Appendix II 1/1st Cambridgeshire Regiment report on operation 9/8/18; 1/1st Cambridgeshire Regiment Supplement to operation order No. 95.The diary opens at Bethune on 3 April 1916. 1916 is spent at Sailly Labourse and Bethune. 1917 at Achicourt. 1918 at Somain, Epehy, Raincheval, Rumigny and Hedauville. 1919 at Somain, Dunkerque, Auberchicourt and Pecquencourt. It closes at Dunkerque on 10 May 1919. Somain is where it spent longest, 151 days across nine separate stays, including a single unbroken stay of 31.Trench and battlefield features named in the diary include Riverside Wood.In 1918 it is also recorded at Dickebusch, Busse Boom, Popperinghe, Ruminghem, Audricques, Lealvillers, Acheux, Mailly-Maillet, Martinsart and Herissart.
