Among the papers are: Divisional Arrangements for Evacuation of wounded; Report on operations by the 59th Infantry Brigade on Sept. 2nd 3rd and 4th Resulting; Brigade Intelligence Summaries; 59th Infantry Brigade Intelligence Summary; 59th Infantry Brigade Intelligence; Daily Intelligence report No 6; Brigade operation orders Nos; March Table-Issued with 59th Infantry Brigade operation order No. 51; March Table-Issued with 59th Inf. Bde operation order No. 54; Amendment to 59th Infantry Brigade operation order No. 55; Brigade Routine orders; 59th Brigade Move order.The diary opens at Poperinghe on 1 July 1916. 1916 is spent at Left, Ville Sur Ancre, Picquigny, Montauban Briqueterie Right and Briqueterie. 1917 at Bois Dore and Corbie. It closes at Bois Dore on 31 January 1917. Bois Dore is where it spent longest, 58 days, including a single unbroken stay of 29 and it came back to Ville Sur Ancre four separate times.Trench and battlefield features named in the diary include Happy Valley & Arrow Head Copse and Dummy Trench & Meaulte.In 1916 it is also recorded at Houtkerque Wormhoudt, Wormhoudt, Right, Bailleul, Bouquemaison, Authie, Left Sector Sailly au Bois & Authie, Beauval, Citadel Area & Montauban Guillemont and Citadel Area Briqueterie Montauban.
