Full colour facsimile reprint of the original First World War, War Office war diary of the 10th Battalion, King's Own (Yorkshire Light Infantry), 64 Infantry Brigade, 21st Division, covering September 1915 to January 1918 across 144 pages. It names 96 places across 135 dated entries.Alongside the daily entries the volume carries one Operation Order and one appendix.The diary opens at Witley Camp on 11 September 1915. 1915 is spent at Merris, Houplines, Armentieres, Ploegsteert and Rouge Croix. 1916 is the most travelled year, 61 places against 37 in the next busiest, and is spent at Armentieres, Buire, La Neuville, Ville and Meteren. 1917 at Moyenneville, Zillebeke Railway Embarkment, Boisleux Au Mont, Berneville and Ecoivres. 1918 at Saulcourt and Epehy. It closes at Saulcourt on 31 January 1918. Armentieres is where it spent longest, 35 days across seven separate stays and the longest it stayed anywhere without moving was 28 days at Moyenneville.Trench and battlefield features named in the diary include Trench 67/71, Scottish Wood, Bernafay Wood, Pomieres Redoubt, Support Trenches and Flers Trench.In 1915 it is also recorded at Southampton, Havre, Zutkerque, Arques, Fontes, Four des Chaux, Loos, Philosophie, Lignes Lez Aire and Boeseghem. In 1916 it is also recorded at Armentiers, Houplines, Trench 67/71, Maulte, Meaulte, Le Neuville, Ribemont, Dernacourt, La Chaussee and Mesge. In 1917 it is also recorded at Wormhoudt, Esquelbecq, Bethune, Annequin, Robecq, Bourecq, Ivergny, Pommera, Adinfer and Baing Becquerelle.
