It names 84 places across 134 dated entries.Alongside the daily entries the volume carries 59 reports, narratives and plans, 90 Operation Orders, five defence schemes, nineteen appendices, seventeen maps and one diagram. Patrol orders for night of 17/18th November,; Patrols orders for night of 3/6th Oct. 1917; Battalion the Rifle Brigade Patrols orders; Standing orders for International Post; Move order No. 8 Battalion the Rifle Brigade; Relief orders Battalion the Rifle Brigade; Instructions Regarding Working Parties in Case of attack; 3rd Battalion the Rifle Brigade. operation order No. 6; Addendum to 17th Infantry Brigade operation order No 207; Relief Table issued with 17th I. Bde, O.O. No. 208 dated 6/12/17.The diary opens at Nortleulinghem on 21 December 1915. 1915 is spent at Nortleulinghem. 1916 at Hill 63, Somme, Kemmel Front, Bois de Taille and Trenches Estree Central. 1917 at Reninghelst, Bully Grenay, Vadencourt, Cremarest and Beuvry. 1918 is the most travelled year, 56 places against 30 in the next busiest, and is spent at Loos, Les Brebis, Vraignes and Chereng. 1919 at Chereng and Brussels. It closes at Chereng on 26 April 1919. Chereng is where it spent longest, 129 days across six separate stays, it came back to Loos fourteen separate times, and the longest it stayed anywhere without moving was 31 days at Somme.Trench and battlefield features named in the diary include Trenches Estree Central, Grande Munque Farm, Battle Wood and Montigny Farm.In 1916 it is also recorded at Poperinghe, Hooge, Nr Vlamertinghe, SE of Ypres, Camp F, Fletre, Grande Munque Farm, Bulford Huts, Messines and Guillemont. In 1917 it is also recorded at Loos, Annezin, Fouquieres, Fosse 10, Angres, Brandhoek, Heksken, Wytschaete, Battle Wood and Area Dickebusch. In 1918 it is also recorded at Vendelles Hancourt, Hargicourt, Templeux, Montigny Farm, Montecourt, Vadencourt, Chaulnes, Vrely, Castel and Fouencamps Boves.
