Appendix a.The diary opens at Blackdown Camp on 29 August 1915. 1915 is spent at Reninghelst, Bonningues Les Ardres, Havre, Dead Dog Farm and Spoil Bank-Canal Bank. 1916 at Front line trenches Right, Vauchelles-Les-Quesnoy, Sandpit and Sains-Les-Pernes. 1917 at Delette, Busnette, Bully-Grenay and Bde Support Calonne. 1918 is the most travelled year, 29 places against 19 in the next busiest, and is spent at St Pierre, Nomain, Bolly-Grenay, Cambrai and Tournai. 1919 at Tournai and Lamain. It closes at Lamain on 30 April 1919. Tournai is where it spent longest, 99 days across four separate stays, it came back to Reninghelst six separate times, and the longest it stayed anywhere without moving was 35 days at Lamain.Trench and battlefield features named in the diary include Front line trenches Right, Dead Dog Farm, Spoil Bank-Canal Bank, Trenches Voormezeele, Delville Wood and Fouquereuil-Bully Grenay Front Line Trenches.In 1915 it is also recorded at Aldershot, Southampton, Houtkerque and Trenches Voormezeele.
