The diary opens at Suez New Camp on 29 February 1916. 1916 is spent at Louvencourt, Arqueves, Redfarm and Acheux. 1917 at Wormhoudt, Arras, Carnoy and Canaples. 1918 at Wallon-Cappel, Hondeghem, Wieltje, Lumbres and Vlamertinghe. 1919 at Mulheim, Herrenstrunden, Wiesdorf, Cologne Germany and Henenstunden. It closes at Mulheim on 4 November 1919. Mulheim is where it spent longest, 182 days across thirteen separate stays and the longest it stayed anywhere without moving was 60 days at Herrenstrunden. Trench and battlefield features named in the diary include Dive Copse, Canada Farm and Moore Park Farm.
