Provisional; Operation orders by Lt-Col Sir H.B. Hill, Bart, Commdg; Supplementary orders by Lt-Col Sir H.B. Addition to order No. 1.The diary opens at Larkhill Salisbury Plain on 7 November 1915. 1915 is spent at Coisy, Canaples, Beumetz, Berles Au Bois and La Herliere. 1916 at Carnoy, Bray, Bailleulmont, Naours and Corbie. 1917 at Achicourt, Le Souich, Nordausques, Beaumetz and Steenvoorde. 1918 at Flavy Le Meldeux, Maigneville, Le Plessis, Villers St. Christophe and Savy Dugouts. It closes at Boulogne on 30 June 1918. Carnoy is where it spent longest, 111 days across nineteen separate stays, it came back to Bray twenty separate times, and the longest it stayed anywhere without moving was 30 days at Picquigny.Trench and battlefield features named in the diary include Pommiers Redoubt, Savy Dugouts, Reserve Trenches Near Wytschaete, Bronfay Farm & Billon Wood, Observatory Ridge Trenches, Trenches Messines, Billon Wood Bronfay and Bronfay Farm.In 1915 it is also recorded at Havre, Flesselles, Halloy, Boisbergues and Autheux. In 1916 it is also recorded at Fienvillers, Boisberques, Pont-Noyelles, Talmas, La Houssoye, Sailly Laurette, Wargnies, Bronfay Farm, Vaux-Sur Somme and Bray-Sur-Somme. In 1917 it is also recorded at Bailleulmont, Bailleulval, Berles, La Cauchie, Bouquemaison, Pommera, Grenas, Mondicourt, Humbercourt and Simencourt. In 1918 it is also recorded at Reninghelst, Camp in Scottish Wood ), Hedge St. Tunnel, Canada St Tunnel, Wallon Cappel, La Belle Hotesse, Alberta Camp Reninghelst, Cercus, Longueau and Moreuil.
