Extension Cambridge Trench; Instructions for Deepening Muddy Lane; Instruction in Consolidation.The diary opens at Milford Camp on 5 March 1916. 1916 is spent at Locon, Bouzincourt, Acheux, Esquelbecq and St. Sixte Belgium. 1917 is the most travelled year, 22 places against 17 in the next busiest, and is spent at Reninghelst, De Zon Camp, Border Camp, Hamhoek and Westoutre. 1918 at Eperlecques, La Recousse, Nurlu, Canal Bank Ypres and Escanaffles. It closes at Hazebrouck on 31 December 1918. Locon is where it spent longest, 105 days across six separate stays and the longest it stayed anywhere without moving was 49 days at Eperlecques.Trench and battlefield features named in the diary include Canal Bank Ypres and Goldfish Chateau.In 1916 it is also recorded at Le Havre, Blaringhem, Lestem, Lestrem, Bethune, Rollecourt, Boirin, Bus Les Artois, Hedauville and Doullens. In 1917 it is also recorded at Hamhoek Belgium, Esquelbecq, D Camp, C. Camp, Meteren, Westoutre Belgium, De Zon Camp Belgium, Zevecoten Belgium, St Jans Cappel France and Goldfish Chateau. In 1918 it is also recorded at Mericourt Sur Somme, Haut Allaines, Guignemicourt, Belloy-St Leonard, Oisemont, Wolphus, Arques, Vichte and Menin.
