It names 68 places across 85 dated entries.Alongside the daily entries the volume carries one Operation Order and two maps.The diary opens at Courcelles on 1 January 1916. 1916 is spent at Coigneux, Point. 85, Le Meillard, Albert and Courcelles. 1917 is the most travelled year, 46 places against 30 in the next busiest, and is spent at Hamel, Blairville, Schools Camp St. Janster Biezen, Cappy and Zutkerque. It closes at Mt St Eloi on 31 October 1917. Coigneux is where it spent longest, 42 days across four separate stays, it came back to Cappy five separate times, and the longest it stayed anywhere without moving was 17 days at Blairville.Trench and battlefield features named in the diary include Trenches. 57d. K.34, Trenches, Support Trenches, Trenches & Outposts and Saulcourt Wood.In 1916 it is also recorded at Courcelles 57d. J 29, Colincamps, In Trenches. 57d.
