It names 182 places across 276 dated entries.Alongside the daily entries the volume carries four reports, narratives and plans and one map. Among the papers are: Narrative of Recent operation; Attempted enemy raid on the trenches held by the 1/7 W.York Rgt. on the Brood Seinde; Enclosure to special order of the day., 49th (West Riding) Division; Special order of the day, 49th (West Riding) Division.The diary opens at Boulogne on 16 April 1915. 1915 is spent at Ypres N Salient, Copper Nollehoek, Rue Du Quesne and In Trenches Q2, R2, S2. 1916 at Flixecourt, Bouquemaison, Frechencourt, Aveluy Wood and Vignacourt. 1917 at Ghyvelde, Teteghem, Laventie, Right Sub Sector Fauquisart and Oudezeele. 1918 at Evin Malmaison, Ypres, Staple, St. Jan Ter Biezen and Montreal Camp Brandhoek. 1919 at Douai, Evin Malmaison and Loos. It closes at Douai on 31 May 1919. Evin Malmaison is where it spent longest, 117 days across five separate stays, including a single unbroken stay of 42.Trench and battlefield features named in the diary include Ypres N Salient, Aveluy Wood, Martinsart Wood, Trenches Q2, R2, S2, Trenches "D" Lines, Trenches D.19 & 20, Trenches B.16-D.20 and Yeres N. Salient.In 1915 it is also recorded at Merville, N of La Gorgue, Bac St Maur, In Trenches "D" Lines, Rue Du Quisne, In Trenches R2 S2 P3, Sailly, Dulieu, Vicinity of Fletre and Proven. In 1916 it is also recorded at Wormhoudt, Merckeghem, Zutkerque, Calais, Longeau, Fourdrinoy, Picquigny, Molliens-Au-Bois, Bouzincourt and In Support Authville. In 1917 it is also recorded at Bailleulmont G.2 Section, Bailleulval, Humber Camp, Ivergny, Bouquemaison, Croisette, Cauchy A La Tour, St. Venant, Lestrem and Levantie. In 1918 it is also recorded at Dragoon Camp, Houlle, Garter Point, Hussar Camp, Potijze, Left Sector Broodseinde Rdge, Huzzar Camp, Left Sector Broodseinde Ridge, Garter Pt and Molenaarelsthoek.
