It names 41 places across 47 dated entries.Alongside the daily entries the volume carries twelve lists of honours and awards, thirteen casualty and personnel returns, 251 reports, narratives and plans, 35 Operation Orders, three appendices, nineteen maps and nine diagrams. Among the papers are: Honours & awards; Honours and awards during the month of November 1917; Casualties during the month of November 1917; Casualties during month of December 1917; Report on raid carried out by 1/4th Bn. K.O.Y.L.I; 148th Infantry Brigade Daily Intelligence report; 148th Infy Brigade Intelligence Summary; 148 Infantry Brigade Intelligence Summary; Report of Patrol of 1/4th York & Lancs. Sent Forward to reconnoitre T 10 a, etc. Appendix; Narrative of Events. 8th to 10th October 1917; 148th Infantry Brigade operation order No. 173; Attack West of Passchendaele.The diary opens at Boisdinghem on 1 October 1917. 1917 is spent at Steenvoorde, Halifax Camp, Winnezeele, Dickebusch and Halfway House. 1918 is the most travelled year, 28 places against 15 in the next busiest, and is spent at Le Forest, Westhoek Dugouts, St Marie Cappel, Road Camp and Reninghelst. 1919 at Douai and Le Forest. It closes at Douai on 30 April 1919. Le Forest is where it spent longest, 49 days and the longest it stayed anywhere without moving was 30 days at Douai.Trench and battlefield features named in the diary include Westhoek Dugouts, Vlamertinghe Chateau and Chateau At Sains.In 1917 it is also recorded at Le Nieppe, Watou, Vlamertinghe, Wieltje, Potijze, Wippenhoek, Dickebusch Area and Infantry Barracks, Ypres. In 1918 it is also recorded at Brenan House, Renninghelst, Houlle, Staple, Lille Gate Ypres, Jackdaw Tunnels, Quebec Camp Near Reninghelst, Tatinghem, St Jan Ster Biezen and Vlamertinghe Chateau.
