Among the papers are: Extracts from Third Army Artillery Instruction No.9; Third Army Artillery instructions No.7; 56th Divisional Artilleries-4.5" How: Barrages up to Blue Objective; 56th Divisional Artilleries-4.5" Howitzer Barrages Up to Blue Objective; Corrigendum No. 1 to 50th D.A. operation order No. 74; Addendum No.1 to 50th D.A. operation order No. 74; Addendum No.2 to 50 D.A operation order No. 74; 50th D.A. Artillery instructions No.1; 50th D.A. Artillery instructions No.2; Relief and Withdrawal Table; Report on Minor operation; Relief Table.The diary opens at Fricourt Farm on 1 January 1917. 1917 is spent at Camp Boisleux, Foucaucourt, Fricourt Farm, Beaumetz and Elverdinghe. 1918 is the most travelled year, 56 places against 23 in the next busiest, and is spent at Dourlers, Ypres, Thiembronne, Lachy and Hallencourt. 1919 at Le Quesnoy and Le Carnoy. It closes at Le Quesnoy on 30 June 1919. Camp Boisleux is where it spent longest, 97 days across four separate stays, including a single unbroken stay of 31 and it came back to Le Carnoy five separate times.Trench and battlefield features named in the diary include Fricourt Farm, Chateau De La Haie and Hachette Farm.In 1917 it is also recorded at Mirvaux, Fouilloy, Flesselles, Occoches, Couturelle, Arras, Telegraph Ridge, Grenas, Beaumetz Les Loges and Camp Near Boisleux. In 1918 it is also recorded at Poperinghe, Moreuil, Etinehem, Buire, Le Mesnil, Foucaucourt Harbonnieres, Marcelcave, Villers Bretonneux, Sourdon and Gentelles.
