Among the papers are: List of officers of 51st Div. arty; Artillery Bombardment in connection with raid by 153rd Infantry Brigade.; Weekly report on operations 30th August to 5th September 1915; Report on operations; Report on operations 12th to 19th September 1915; Intelligence; Orders 1st Highld FA Bde; Orders for 2 Highld FA Bde; Orders for 3rd Highld Howr Bde; 4th Corps & attached Artillery instructions No. 8; 51st Divisional Artillery March Table issued with operation order No. 22; March Table, 51st Divisional Artillery operation order No. 29.The diary opens at Bedford on 30 April 1915. 1915 is spent at Senlis, Locon, Estaires, La Couture and Busnes. 1916 at Hermaville, Lealvillers, Steenwerck, Argoeuves and Bussy-Les-Daours. 1917 at Villers-Chatel, Chateau Du Bois Des Bonnanles, Boisleux Au Mont, Fremicourt and Maroeuil. 1918 is the most travelled year, 49 places against 32 in the next busiest, and is spent at Fremicourt, Maroeuil, Roeulx, Achiet-Le-Petit and Molinghem. 1919 at Roeulx and Lalouviere. It closes at Lalouviere on 25 March 1919. Senlis is where it spent longest, 169 days across nine separate stays, it came back to Hermaville eleven separate times, and the longest it stayed anywhere without moving was 50 days at Roeulx.Trench and battlefield features named in the diary include Chateau Du Bois Des Bonnanles and Chateau Boismont.In 1915 it is also recorded at Merville, N.E. of Vielle Chapelle, Pradelle, La Gorgue and Heilly. In 1916 it is also recorded at Lynde, Etinehem, Bussy, Villers-Bocage, Rebreuve, Duisans, Lucheux, Le Meillard, Vignacourt and Ribemont. In 1917 it is also recorded at Usna Hill, Authieule, Occoches, Maizicourt, Chateau Du Bois De Bonnanie, Cumoille, Boubers, Croisette, Chateau Boismont and Hermaville. In 1918 it is also recorded at Bancourt, Grevillers, Puisieux, Colincamps, Foncque-Villers, Souastre, Le Souich, Wail, Ramecourt and St Pol.
