Subject-Contact Patrol and Flares; Operation order 6th Gordon Highlanders in the Field 12th June 1916; Operation orders Snipe in the Field 17th June 1916; Table of Reliefs issued with operation orders No.76; Warning order Comdg 6th Gordon Highlanders near Aveluy 7th Decr 1916; Special operation orders 6th Gordon Highlanders ACQ 27th February 1917.The diary opens at Near Armentieres on 1 September 1916. 1916 is spent at Near Armentieres, Near Aveluy, Near Bailleul, Bouzincourt and Courcelette. 1917 is the most travelled year, 59 places against 33 in the next busiest, and is spent at St. Janster Biezen, Arras, Hautvillers, Dainville and Maroeuil. 1918 at Achiet-Le-Petit, In Trenches, Witternesse, Fremicourt and Caucourt. It closes at Railway Embankment on 30 September 1918. In Trenches is where it spent longest, 39 days across five separate stays, it came back to Fremicourt six separate times, and the longest it stayed anywhere without moving was 25 days at Achiet-Le-Petit.Trench and battlefield features named in the diary include Trenches and Chateau De La Haie.In 1916 it is also recorded at Near Ovillers. In 1917 it is also recorded at Ovillers Huts, Bouzincourt, Bruce Huts, Raincheval, Bois Bergues, Yvrench, Gapennes, Buire Au Bois, Framecourt and Grlencourt. In 1918 it is also recorded at Lebucquiere, O'Shea Camp, Neuvillette, Labeuvriere, Oblinghem, Lapugnoy, Ham-En Artois, Busnes, Neuville St Vaast and Ecurie Wood Camp.
