It names 54 places across 82 dated entries.Alongside the daily entries the volume carries 52 casualty and personnel returns, 50 reports, narratives and plans, 83 Operation Orders, nine maps and one diagram. Among the papers are: Casualty Return for 1st Period in trenches; 154 Inf. Brigade Casualty Return from 1/6/15 to 30/6/15; Casualty Return; Report on Raiding Parties on night; Report of operations of 154th Infantry Brigade 15-17th June 1915; Memorandum Referred to in operation order No 10 Para 4; Instructions to Routing Party; Operation order No. 15 March Table; March Table issued with operation order No. 16; Movement Table to Accompany Brigade operation order No. 17; Table of Moves with operation order No. 18; Movement Table to Accompany operation order No. 19.The diary opens at Beford on 19 April 1915. 1915 is spent at Aveluy, Henancourt, Martinsart, Beford and Aveluhy. 1916 is the most travelled year, 44 places against 23 in the next busiest, and is spent at Etrun, Montonvillers, Armentieres, La Neuville and Aveluy. It closes at Bouzincourt on 31 December 1916. Etrun is where it spent longest, 125 days across five separate stays, it came back to Aveluy nine separate times, and the longest it stayed anywhere without moving was 31 days at Aveluy.Trench and battlefield features named in the diary include E. Of Mametz Wood and Trench.In 1915 it is also recorded at Ham En Artois, Calonne-Sur-La-Lys, Meteren, La Gorgue, Locon, Near Le Touret, Near Hinges, W C D Central, Laventie and Estraires. In 1916 it is also recorded at In Trench, Argoeuves, Longpre, Mirvaux, Rubempre, Doullens, Ivergny, Etrun N.W. Of Arras, Chelers and Bernaville.
