It names 70 places across 109 dated entries.Alongside the daily entries the volume carries two reports, narratives and plans, two Operation Orders and sixteen diagrams. Among the papers are: Visual instructions; Signalling instructions.The diary opens at German Wd on 1 October 1914. 1914 is spent at German Wd, Belloy Sur Somme, Hallencourt, Citadel and Corbie. 1916 at Henu, Le Gourgue, Le Caruoy, Le Cauroy and Domart. 1917 at Fremicourt, Arras, La Gorgue, La Gourgue and Roclincourt. 1918 at Warlus, Villers Chatel, Harveng, Fayt Le Franc and Victory Camp. 1919 at Harveng, Jemappes and Antwerp. It closes at Bulford on 31 May 1919. Warlus is where it spent longest, 118 days across six separate stays and the longest it stayed anywhere without moving was 64 days at Le Gourgue.Trench and battlefield features named in the diary include Billons Farm, Billon Farm and German Trench.In 1916 it is also recorded at Ipswich, Southampton, Havre, Longpre, Hallincourt, Souastre, Doullens, Fhroun-Le-Grand, St Riquier and Corbie. In 1917 it is also recorded at St Venant, Pernes, Le Gauroy, Simencourt, Beaumetz, Achicourt, Couin, Hauteville, Walrus and Warlus. In 1918 it is also recorded at Roclincourt, Victory Camp Roclincourt G3B73, Rocklincourt, Roellecourt, Le Cauroy, Bavincourt, Blaireville, Boisleux-St-Marc, Villers-Lez-Cagnicourt and Etrun. In 1919 it is also recorded at Harveng Belgium, Jemappes Belgium and Tilbury.
