Full colour facsimile reprint of the original First World War, War Office war diary of the 2/6th Battalion, Prince of Wales's (North Staffordshire Regiment), 176 Infantry Brigade, 59th Division, covering February 1917 to July 1918 across 114 pages. It names 84 places across 116 dated entries.Alongside the daily entries the volume carries two reports, narratives and plans, twenty-four Operation Orders and one map. Among the papers are: Operation order No.50 Cmdg 2/6th North Staffordshire Regiment; Routine orders Cmdg 2/6th North Staffordshire Regiment.The diary opens at Codford on 2 February 1917. 1917 is spent at Winnezeele, Codford, Jeancourt, Haplincourt and Souchez. 1918 at Doullens, Montieres, Noreuil, Canchy and Rebreuviette. It closes at Abancourt on 31 July 1918. Doullens is where it spent longest, 34 days, it came back to Yaucourt-Bussus four separate times, and the longest it stayed anywhere without moving was 30 days at Winnezeele.Trench and battlefield features named in the diary include Nobescourt Farm, Bourlon Wood, Trappistes Farm and Trappist Farm.In 1917 it is also recorded at Southampton, Le Havre, Folkestone, Boulogne, Saleux, Longeaux, Fouilloy, Morcourt, Foucaucourt and Berny. In 1918 it is also recorded at Noreuil Mory, Bullecourt, Courcelles Les Comte, Douchy, Bouzincourt, Beaucourt, Fienvillers-Candas, La Pougnay, Caucourt and Proven.
