Among the papers are: Casualties; Casualties for month ending January 31st 1918; 2/8th Bn Manchester regt casualties for month of January 1918; Appendix a operation orders; Relief Table; Operation orders A1 to A8; 2/8th Battalion Manchester Regiment Refce Sheet 28 1/40,000 order No. 41.The diary opens at Boulogne on 14 March 1917. 1917 is the most travelled year, 58 places against 8 in the next busiest, and is spent at Cambrin Right, Caestre, Noyelles, Arques and Montreal Camp. 1918 is spent at Caestre, Infantry Barracks Ypres, West Farm Camp I.10 Central and School Camp. It closes at School Camp on 13 February 1918. Cambrin Right is where it spent longest, 41 days across nine separate stays and the longest it stayed anywhere without moving was 18 days at Arques.In 1917 it is also recorded at Annequin, Cambrin Left, St Elie Right, B5 M17 Support, Noyelles "B" & "C" Coys Camrin Left, Noyelles "B" & "D" Coys Cambrin Left, Support, La. Pugnoy, St Pol and Courdekerque-Branch. In 1918 it is also recorded at Potijze, Left Sub Sector 66th Divisional Front and Reninghelst.
