Full colour facsimile reprint of the original First World War, War Office war diary of the 3 INDIAN (LAHORE) DIVISION Divisional Troops 20 and 21 Field Company Sappers and Miners, Divisional Signal Company and 34 Sikh Pioneers, covering August 1914 to December 1915 across 1,112 pages. It names 134 places across 273 dated entries.Alongside the daily entries the volume carries two reports, narratives and plans, ten Operation Orders, two appendices, twelve maps and 138 diagrams. Among the papers are: War Diary & report on operations by 21st Company 3rd S & M Lahore Div; Report on Attack-Capture.The diary opens at Ambala on 8 August 1914. 1914 is spent at Alexandria, Gorre, Bethune, Picantin and Estaires. 1915 is the most travelled year, 174 places against 76 in the next busiest, and is spent at Les 8 Maisons, Rue Du Ponch, Estaires, Bout De Ville and Lestrem. It closes at S.S. Nile at Sea on 31 December 1915. Estaires is where it spent longest, 112 days across fourteen separate stays and the longest it stayed anywhere without moving was 88 days at Alexandria.Trench and battlefield features named in the diary include A.I. Redoubt.In 1914 it is also recorded at In The Train In Route, Bombay Alexandria Docks, Suez, H.T. Nurani and Port Tewfik, Port Tewfik, Abassieh Station Cairo, Camp Heliopolis, Cairo, Marseilles and En Route Between Marseilles And Orleans. In 1915 it is also recorded at Lozinghem, Auchel, Allouagne, Haut Rieux, Marles, Richebourg St Vaast, Lacouture, Le Reveillon, Chocques and Raimbert.
