It names 95 places across 175 dated entries.Alongside the daily entries the volume carries eight reports, narratives and plans, five Operation Orders, one appendix, five maps and four diagrams. Among the papers are: Report on German Gun Emplacement 58th Rifles; Special order; Indian Army Corps Routine orders Willcocks,, K.C.8.1; Special order to the 1st Army Appx IX; Indian Army Corps. order of the Day Willcocks,, K.C.8.1; Extract from Indian Army Corps Routine order.The diary opens at Le Petit Pacaut on 1 March 1914. 1914 is spent at Dalhousie, Jullundur, Jullendur, S.S. Ather and Orleans. 1915 is the most travelled year, 107 places against 46 in the next busiest, and is spent at France, Lestrem, La Gorgue, Croix Marmuse and Croix Marmeuse. It closes at Suez on 14 January 1916. Dalhousie is where it spent longest, 115 days, including a single unbroken stay of 115 and it came back to Lacouture thirteen separate times.Trench and battlefield features named in the diary include Ebenezer Farm, Trenches nr Richburg D'Avoue, Trenches S. Of Chapigny, Trenches nr Fauquissart, Trenches S.E. of Neuve Chapelle and Farm 500 Wof Picantin.In 1914 it is also recorded at Vielle Chapelle, La Bassee Road, Parcborely, Meteren, Estaires, Fauquissant, Le Touret, Lacouture, Croix Barbie and Pont Duhem. In 1915 it is also recorded at Lacouture, Richebourg St Vaast, Lacoutre, Rue Du Bois, Vieille Chapelle, Chocques, Vendin, Allouagne, Hingette and Calonne.
