It names 47 places across 82 dated entries.Alongside the daily entries the volume carries thirteen casualty and personnel returns, twenty-six reports, narratives and plans, 78 Operation Orders, seven appendices, four maps and four diagrams. Among the papers are: List of casualties Sirhind Brigade; Casualty Return Sirhind Brigade.; Roll of British officers killed wounded Sirhind Bde.; Report on operations night of 16th-17th March 15. by O.C. 1/1 G.B.; Intelligence Report. Appx 16; Ammendment to operation order No. 16; Special order to the 1st Army; Report on Action; Operation order No. 21 Br Sirhind Brigade Appx 53; Memorandum, I beg to forward herewith my report on the action of the Sirhind Brigade; The following instructions have been received from the Indian Corps Commander. Appx 17; Operation order Cmdg 1/1 G.R.The diary opens at Kasauli on 8 August 1914. 1914 is spent at Ismailia, Gorre, Kasauli, Race Course Camp and Race Course Heliopolis Camp. 1915 is the most travelled year, 61 places against 13 in the next busiest, and is spent at Calonne, Pont Du Hem, West Of St Jean Near Ypres, La Gorgue and Rue Du Puits. It closes at H.M.T. "Franconia" on 31 December 1915. Calonne is where it spent longest, 39 days across six separate stays, it came back to Croix Marmuse seven separate times, and the longest it stayed anywhere without moving was 33 days at Ismailia.In 1914 it is also recorded at Bombay, Suez, Heliopolis, Cairo, Les Lobes, Vendin and Auchel. In 1915 it is also recorded at Richebourg & Vaast, La Couture, Vendin, Auchel, Cse Du Raux, Robecq, Neuve Chapelle, Work A1, Les Lobes and Jean.
