Full colour facsimile reprint of the original First World War, War Office war diary of the 7 INDIAN (MEERUT) DIVISION Divisional Troops 3 and 4 Field Company Sappers and Miners, Divisional Signal Company and 107 Pioneers, covering May 1914 to December 1915 across 651 pages. It names 126 places across 278 dated entries.Alongside the daily entries the volume carries three casualty and personnel returns, one report or narrative, five Operation Orders, two appendices, two maps and twenty-seven diagrams. Among the papers are: Lt Dowie wounded with 4 Men; Capt E.H Kelly wounded 4 Bomb; St. Robson killed; Report on the Capture of two German Sap Heads.The diary opens at Les Huits Maisons on 26 May 1914. 1914 is spent at Gorre, Meerut, Orleans, Le Touret and Locon. 1915 is the most travelled year, 143 places against 83 in the next busiest, and is spent at Riez Bailleul, Rue De Ponch, Chateau Fosse, Richebourg St Vaast and Bout Deville. It closes at Ali-Al-Gharbi on 31 December 1915. Riez Bailleul is where it spent longest, 193 days across nine separate stays, including a single unbroken stay of 61 and it came back to Gorre fourteen separate times.Trench and battlefield features named in the diary include Chateau Fosse, Chateau Gorre, La Fosse Chateau, Fosse Chateau and Chateau Busne.In 1914 it is also recorded at Roorkee, Bombay, Muttra, Ludiana Junction, Rutlam, In Route, Karachi, Red Sea, H.T Pundua at Kiamari and H.T. Pundua Karachi Harbour. In 1915 it is also recorded at Manquevilles, Cornet Burdois, Lillers, Robecq, Calonne, Leslobes, Vielle Chapelle, Croix Marmuse, Richebourg St. Vaast Night and Vieille Chapelle.
