Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

They are the abandoned ones, the forgotten ones, the voiceless ones. Cruelly abandoned at an early age by parents who are otherwise unable, unqualified, or unwilling to care for them, the children who face life as wards of the state need our help. Too many will never know the true meaning of the word home, as they are shifted from one foster home to the next. Too many will never have a feeling of security or self-worth. But it doesn't have to be that way. Dr. Ron Huber understands. He became a ward of the state when he was just three years old and lived within the system for the next fourteen years. For the last thirty years, he has been a vocal advocate for children in similar circumstances. In telling the story of Our Abandoned Children, Dr. Huber takes his readers deep inside the troubled system that is failing our youngest and most vulnerable citizens. He explains the many challenges these children face as a result of their circumstances. From the time they begin life as "throwaway children," they need our help. Every child deserves a chance to develop self-esteem and to experience the safety and security of a loving, stable childhood.
