Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

The long awaited sequel to Black Scorpion is here. Black Pearl is the story of Joan Myers - the college friend from Florida that Elizabeth Herrington ran to when her engagement to Aaron Jordan was called off. * * * * * Joan Myers and Britt Palmer have several things in common - they are both intelligent, successful business owners that happened to be financially supported by the same man. Many people in the community believe they are family - but they refuse such defining labels. Joan cut emotional ties to her father when he decided to remarry and have her shipped off to a boarding school ten years earlier. In her immature mindset, it was to make room for the new family moving into her home - a family that included an obnoxious college stud that didn't give her the time of day. Britt was in college at the time his mother uprooted her life to marry a man he had never heard of before. A man who had a beautiful daughter who not only was jailbait at the time, but into daily mischief with the local riffraff. Fortunately for Britt, Jonathan Myers turned out to be a very generous and caring man. When Jonathan Myers is told he hasn't long to live, he formulates a plan to make sure that his estranged family live in unity for the duration of one year after he dies. In his effort to ensure that his plan is followed through, he manipulates his will so specific stipulations must be met before either party can receive their part of the estate. Demands are ridiculous and personal sacrifice is required. Can Jonathan's family survive the year still committed to the plan or will they deem the cost too high and forgo their individual inheritance? Black Pearl is an enthralling tale of a father's love that goes beyond rational measures to reunite the hearts of his family - which now consists only of Joan and Britt. They must learn to trust and endure during the difficult days when accusations and assumptions are on the daily menu of circumstances, and where new twists to the details behind Jonathan's scheme lurks in the shadows ahead.
