Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Chilling and riveting, My Business knocks the breath out of the reader. The second book of the series, it is both a knock out continuation that you will never see coming, and a rock-solid story on its own. This is gritty, intense storytelling peering from the shadows. Again the Old West threatens to swallow up and spit out those who dare call it home. Life is pain, hardship, loss, and bitter truths in this time of lawless, and sometimes soulless, strife-but it reaches out through universal touchstones of the human condition. R.J. Conn speaks to the juxtapositions of life: vulnerability behind aggression, the supple grated by the jagged. The two paint an elaborate world with watermarks from all eras and all places. All at once period and current, far and away, familiar and foreign, My Business speaks. A native of San Diego, California, married with four children; R. J. Conn is a veteran of the Vietnam War and thirty-seven years of teaching. He has hiked, hunted, and fished the backcountry of the Sierra Nevada; he has a deep love for the mountains, for their geography, and their history. He also has a love for the Old West, for the trials, failures, faith and victories of those who lived through its stormy-sometimes beautiful, sometimes terrible-history. Above all, from the darkness of the Vietnam War to the majesty of the Minarets, he has found God to be constant, tender, and powerful.
