Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

"This is a collection of letters written by a soldier during the Korean War (1950-1952). There are detailed and well-written descriptions of the Army life at that time-from basic training at Camp Polk, Louisiana, the journey by ship through the Panama Canal to Japan, and then on to Korea. Included are descriptions of the countryside, the people, barracks life, and the importance of mail on morale. Also included are the frustrations, disappointments, uncertainties, and rumors and their effect on a well-adjusted individual." --Page 4 of cover.
