Jeffrey Archer wurde 1940 in London geboren. Seine Kindheit verbrachte Archer in Weston-super-Mare und er studierte in Oxford. Er ist bekannt als Politiker und erfolgreicher Schriftsteller, letzteres vor allem durch den Roman "Kain und Abel" und dessen Fortsetzung "Abels Tochter". Der dritte Teil der Serie erschien unter dem Titel "Kains Erbe". Neben Einzelromanen wie "Klang der Hoffnung" oder "Söhne des Glücks" begeistert Archer stetig seine Leserschaft mit seinen historischen Roman-Reihen "Die Clifton-Saga" und "Die Warwick-Saga".
