Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

In Come Out and Close the Door, Sonya Brazzel writes of the emotionally and spiritually trying experience of living with a drug-addicted spouse. Sonya poignantly shares her own story of becoming a mother at the young age of fifteen, and the subsequent ups and downs of living with her addicted ex-husband for nearly thirty years before finally breaking free. From this experience, Sonya speaks authentically about why women stay in bad relationships, examining the fears and hopes underlying this difficult decision. She covers a breadth of soul-piercing topics, teaching the importance of conquering the shame of our pasts and forgiving those who have wronged us. At the same time, she provides wise counsel on divorce as a necessary tool for achieving freedom and healing in extreme circumstances. While not softening the terrible effects of a life controlled by addiction, Sonya points readers to declare and decree God's protection and truth into their own circumstances. Rather than being held captive by the fears and shame of the past, Sonya shows how we can confidently move forward to overcome the despair and destruction that addiction wreaks. Through it all, Come Out and Close the Door points readers to find true hope in the power and love of our Almighty God. Psalm 37:23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way.
