Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Did you hear or read any of these today: "Break Bread", "Count the Cost", "Eleventh Hour", "Eat Drink, and be Merry", "Fell on His Sword"? These are only a few of the more than 200 entries noted by author William C. Falkner as having come to us from that most read of all books-The King James Version (KJV) of the Bible. Most of us in the English-speaking world today are vaguely aware of the biblical connection of these words and expressions. But few of us can actually pinpoint their biblical origin and context. Also, many of our younger generations are clueless about their biblical connection. Biblically Speaking... is aimed at filling the gaps in the knowledge of both those groups. This compilation of over 200 entries provides examples of their current usage, their generally accepted definition, biblical source, and a brief commentary.
