Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Changing My Mind: Reinventing Myself In Retirement examines the transition from career to retirement from every angle. Each year, approximately 4 million people in the United States retire. Many of these people prepare financially for this major life event, but do not adequately prepare for the emotional and social impact of retiring. It can be stressful to cope with the changes retirement brings. At a time when we expected to be happy and relaxed, we can find ourselves struggling to come up for air. Further increasing the degree of difficulty, many people tackle secondary or related changes in their lives at the same time as they retire. Retirees often relocate. Retirees often become caregivers for loved ones. Retirees often find their relationships change. Retirees often wonder how to have a fulfilling, satisfying life after leaving the workforce. With all this major metamorphosis whipping around in our brains, it is no wonder that retiring can feel a bit like stepping into a violent change tsunami. Changing My Mind grapples with all these challenges and more. Dorry Curran provides a perspective on coping with the retirement transition that is often humorous, sometimes poignant... and unfailingly practical.
