• Sybil Lamb is a trans writer and illustrator who did the cover illustration that appears on Casey Plett's novel Little Fish. She is also the author of I've Got a Time Bomb, a novel published by the independent publisher Topside Press in 2014.• The Girl Who Was Convinced Beyond All Reason That She Could Fly is a YA illustrated novel that touches on themes of homelessness, self-preservation and care, friendship and allyship, and the strength of girls and women. Full-color illustrations are scattered throughout the book that depict Eggs' wild aerial flights above and across a cramped urban environment.• As Sybil was about to start the long process of editing I've Got a Time Bomb, she woke up one night with the story of The Girl Who Was Convinced, which she mapped out visually on her Tumblr page in a couple of hours. But then she left it alone for 3 years, only to return to it when she felt the need to turn it into an actual book.• The book is based on Sybil's own punk rock origins; she conjures up a world of dreamers and makers untouched by corporate cynicism. While the book is not explicitly queer, there is a lot that young queer kids will see of themselves in this story, in which a girl who's an outsider and a loner finds strength in herself and the community she trusts.• . Advance blurbs forthcoming from Casey Plett (Little Fish) and Torrey Peters (Detransition Baby, One World/Random House, 2020).• Age range is 14 and up.
