Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

North Carolina is one of the most bird-rich states in the US. With a species list of over 470 and a diverse array of unique habitats, there is much to learn about and explore when it comes to the avian life of the Tarheel State. Coastal Cape Hatteras is a world-renowned site for viewing seabirds, shorebirds, and waterfowl. The Great Smoky Mountains and Appalachian Mountains cut through North Carolina and host more northerly species like Red Crossbill and Hermit Thrush. Not to be forgotten is state bird Northern Cardinal and other colorful stand-outs like Scarlet Tanager and myriad wood-warblers. It can be both exciting and dizzying to discover so many species, so it helps to establish a base of knowledge about a smaller group of familiar species. You can do this with the portable reference North Carolina Birds, which includes beautiful illustrations of 140 common birds as well as an ecoregion map showing over 20 bird-finding hotspots and learning sites. Laminated for durability, this lightweight, 12-panel folding pocket guide is the ideal companion for educators, learners, naturalists, and birders who wish to sharpen their bird identification skills and peer more closely into birds’ fascinating lives. Made in the USA.
