Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

From its lush coastal forests on the Pacific coast to its semi-deserts east of the Cascade Mountains, Oregon is covered with unique plant life. Over 4,000 species grow in the Beaver State, which has one of the highest levels of conifer diversity in the world. The ubiquitous Douglas-fir is the state tree, while the Oregon Grape is the state flower. Other stand-outs include Sitka Spruce and Sword Fern in the west and Big Sagebrush in the east. For many people, plants offer a window into the character of a landscape, so it helps to get acquainted with the most familiar species to establish a solid foundation of knowledge on which to build. You can do this with the portable reference Oregon Trees & Wildflowers, which features beautiful illustrations of 140 common trees, shrubs, and wildflowers as well as an ecoregion map showing over 20 botanical sanctuaries and learning sites. Laminated for durability, this lightweight, 12-panel folding pocket guide is the ideal companion for educators, learners, naturalists, and botanists who wish to forge deeper and more meaningful connections with the land through its plant life. Made in the USA.
