Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Some of the most ancient insects, dragonflies and damselflies have been increasingly popular in recent years. Unlike most other groups of insects, these colorful hunters are readily identifiable without the aid of a key. This makes it easier to delve into their fascinating life histories, which include a ferocious aquatic larval period, their riveting emergence from the water, and an adult stage consisting of remarkable aerial maneuvers, such as the ability to hover and fly backward and forward. It always helps to have an entry point when learning about a set of life forms, and the portable reference Dragonflies & Damselflies is the perfect tool for that. It includes 70 common and familiar species, information on life cycles, and illustrations of larvae, which are known as nymphs or naiads. Laminated for durability, this 12-panel folding pocket guide is the ideal companion for educators, learners, naturalists, and insect enthusiasts looking to delve deeper into the lives of dragonflies and damselflies. Made in the USA.
