Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

The church today inspires as much skepticism as devotion-scarred by scandal, splintered by division, and dismissed by a generation drifting toward the door. In The Church God Wants, theologian Jason E. Vickers cuts through the noise of competing opinions to ask a more pressing question: not what do we think of the church, but what does God want from it?

Drawing deeply from Scripture, Vickers uncovers three divine callings-to bear witness to Christ, to pursue holiness, and to persevere in faith-that form the church's unshakable foundation in any age.

This isn't a quick-fix manual but a clarifying vision, giving pastors, leaders, and everyday believers solid ground to stand on amid the chaos. Whether you've grown disillusioned with the church or simply want to love her better, this book offers both a mirror and a map. Read it, and rediscover not the church you've experienced, but the church God wants.

Jason E. Vickers holds the Wesley Endowed Chair in Christian Theology at Baylor University's Truett Seminary, Waco, TX. He is the author or co-author of numerous books, including Minding the Good Ground: A Theology for Church Renewal and Love Divine: A Wesleyan Systematic Theology.
