Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Letters to a Young Poet is Rainer Maria Rilke's classic meditation on art, solitude, inwardness, and the discipline of the creative life. Written between 1903 and 1908 to Franz Xaver Kappus, a young military cadet seeking advice about poetry, these ten letters became one of the most enduring works of literary correspondence of the twentieth century. Rilke does not offer rules for writing or easy encouragement; instead, he asks the aspiring artist to examine the necessity of creation, the value of solitude, and the difficult interior life from which real work must arise.Measured, intimate, and searching, Letters to a Young Poet continues to speak to readers interested in poetry, literary letters, European literature, creativity, and spiritual self-examination. Its reflections on love, uncertainty, patience, artistic vocation, and the shaping of an inner life have made it a lasting companion for writers, artists, students, and readers drawn to the seriousness of literature as a way of living.
