Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

- Since launching Dave Zirin's Edge of Sports imprint in 2016, we have had some great successes with these nonfiction sports books.- O'Callaghan is one of only a few openly gay former NFL players; he came out in an interview with Outsports.com (cofounded by Zeigler, the book's coauthor).- O'Callaghan was profiled in the feature-length documentary, Alone in the Game, that premiered in summer 2018 at AFI Docs in Washington, DC (and had a broader release on DirecTV, etc.)- O'Callaghan has been profiled in major media like CBS News, ESPN, USA Today, Boston Globe, etc.- O'Callaghan was a special guest of Congressman Joe Kennedy's at the 2018 Boston Pride parade.- O'Callaghan receives many invitations to a variety of events--for example, in 2018 he participated in a panel discussion at the Diversity and Inclusion Sports Consortium's (DISC) symposium; he was also invited to speak at Levi Strauss & Co's headquarters.- Cyd Zeigler is one of the world's foremost experts on LGBTQ issues in sports and is often seen on major sports shows--his platform is very visible. In addition, Zeigler's Outsports.com website is very popular and will play a key role in the book's promotion.- Imprint curator, Zirin, has authored numerous books that have sold very well and he will be instrumental in promoting the book with us. - Akashic is well-connected in the LGBTQ literary community.- In addition to the sports media connections we've made through previous releases on the Edge of Sports imprint, we will rely greatly on Zirin's, Zeigler's, and O'Callaghan's connections.
