She received her bachelor`s degree from Baylor University and masters from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary, leaving for Richmond, Virginia for appointment to represent the Southern Baptist Convention the day of graduation, in 1949. She spent a year in Colombia studying the Spanish language and arrived in Argentina in August 1950, spending 31 years ministering, while over that country living in Rosario and Mendoza Argentina, retiring in 1981. She gave her first three furloughs to completing requirements for a Doctor of Religious Education degree, from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
