Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Conflict is serious and needs the church's serious attention. Every eight hours a pastor is terminated. Every year over a thousand churches disband; often because of conflict. Supported by over thirty years of academic research and based on real-life experiences in ministry, Conflict: Causes and Cures presents practical perspectives, solutions, and resources for dealing with conflicted churches. Dr. Smith shares the top ten causes of conflict in a lively case study format and discusses three necessary approaches to conflict-education, mediation, and restoration. Complete with scripture references and biblical applications, Conflict: Causes and Cures is essential reading for those who are concerned about this critical problem that confronts our churches today. ENDORSEMENTS "Dr. Smith has provided a manual for recognizing and resolving conflict. His biblical, yet practical solutions will help leaders and followers alike to better deal with contentious people and problematic situations." Jerry Fulton, Editor of Baptist Progress "I have known Dr. Mike Smith for about 35 years. In my 40 years of experience of serving as Chairman of the Deacons, Church Personnel Chairman and, concerned church member I have never run across a book that spoke so openly and honestly about church conflict in which this complex subject is presented in user-friendly terms. This book is an excellent resource for understanding the causes and cures of conflicts. I recommend it to every church and pastor dealing with church conflicts."
