Gordon Anderson was born in the United States to a Norwegian father, who was a traveling evangelist, and a schoolteacher mother whose parents had emigrated from Norway to become homesteaders on the prairies of North Dakota. The second of three boys, he grew up enjoying the hills and dales of Rockland County, New York, and his maternal grandparents' prairie farm, all the while developing an abiding love for animals and nature. After God's clarion call into the ministry, Gordon traveled extensively as an evangelist across the continental United States, Alaska, and Norway. A gifted preacher and talented singer with a rich baritone voice, he often regaled people with his witty sense of humor. His most enduring legacy was his love for God's Word and for people. Throughout the years, Gordon touched many lives and was loved by people from all walks of life.
