Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Fifteenth in the Tales of the Old Wild West series by prolific western author Doyle Trent. In the tradition of the John Wayne classic western films and legendary television series of Gunsmoke and Bonanza. The Wild West. If the elements, rattlers, coyotes, and Indian's didn't kill you...the person sitting next to you in the saloon just might...just for the hell of it. This series is presented as self-contained standalone story novels that do not have to be read in any particular order. It gives readers an entertaining glimpse into what individuals from all walks of life encountered as they traversed the untamed western landscape seeking fortune, glory, a new start, or keeping one step ahead of the law behind them.COLORADO GOLDForced into early retirement from the cattle business by a bullet wound in his backside, Buck Innes was content to spend his time whittlin' on the front porch of Mrs. Davenport's boarding house in Cripple Creek-until an old gold miner named Spooky Hallows suddenly disappeared in the wild country a few miles west of town. Word was that Spooky had struck it rich, and it wasn't long before a lot of strangers were crowding into Cripple Creek asking after Spooky's whereabouts.Spooky had been a good friend of Buck's, and when Spooky's daughter asked for his help in locating him, Buck decided to ride into the canyons to find him. He didn't find Spooky, but he did find what looked like his mine. And he'd no more than done that when a bullet tugged at the brim of Buck's hat and a bunch of claim-jumpers with their hands full of Colts charged out of underbrush. As Buck sighted in his .30-.30, he knew he might be close to cashing in his chips...
