Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Tenth in the Tales of the Old Wild West series by prolific western author Doyle Trent. In the tradition of the John Wayne classic western films and legendary television series of Gunsmoke and Bonanza. The Wild West. If the elements, rattlers, coyotes, and Indian's didn't kill you...the person sitting next to you in the saloon just might...just for the hell of it. This series is presented as self-contained standalone story novels that do not have to be read in any particular order. It gives readers an entertaining glimpse into what individuals from all walks of life encountered as they traversed the untamed western landscape seeking fortune, glory, a new start, or keeping one step ahead of the law behind them.A BOND OF BROTHERHOODThe Cheyenne's ancient rifle misfired. Otherwise, Todd Kildow would have met his death face down among the forest and rocky outcroppings, his scalp at the Cheyenne's belt. Todd spun at the click of the hammer, his six-gun out of his holster and drawn on a spot between the red-man's glittering, hate-filled eyes, while the Cheyenne brave stood tall and defiant, accepting his death. But Todd couldn't squeeze off the trigger. Not on a helpless man. At that moment, a bond formed between them-a bond of brotherhood.A VOW OF VENGEANCESomewhere in the untamed vastness of the Colorado Territory, one of the three skulking gunsels who had murdered Todd's folks-cut them down for a mare and a loaf of fresh-baked bread-was loose and roaming free. Todd had already gunned down the man's two partners. Now a grim-jawed, vigilante-hating, law-and-order sheriff was hunting him. It was a matter of time. With the help of his Cheyenne brother and the sorrel-haired firecracker called Marrie who'd claimed Todd as her man, he'd level his Remington on the third man and bring him to justice...the law's justice-or his own.
