The authors present both Goethean and Indigenous Sciences as counter-Faustian, using ‘Faust’ – Goethe’s greatest literary creation – as shorthand for the hubristic supremacism, massive destructiveness, and wanton disregard for the natural world characteristic of Eurocentric science in the last four centuries.
