Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Next to the Bible, nothing has shaped our faith as Christians more than the hymns we sing. At any time of any day, the words of a gospel song or hymn can enter our minds, bringing reflection, challenge, and joy. This book invites readers to experience daily the words of the most prolific hymn writer in history, Fanny J. Crosby. The introduction gives a brief biography of Crosby and sets her hymns in context. Reflecting each day on one of her over 8,000 hymns and on the biblical verses that inspired them will lead readers into a deeper experience of the Jesus they long to see.Endorsement:Only a hymn writer as prolific as Fanny Crosby could have enough material to inspire 365 daily meditations. And only a true hymn lover could curate her offerings so skillfully into this wonderful devotional guide. Gary Holloway has crafted thoughtful reflections on Crosby's best known hymns while also spotlighting wonderful, lesser known gems. In the process he reminds us once again how deep, beautiful and poignant the blind poet's work actually is. This collection is a loving, beautifully crafted treasure.-Randy Gill, D.M.A., Professor and Director of Worship Arts, Lipscomb University, Nashville, TNAbout the Author:With a Ph.D. from Emory University, Gary Holloway taught theology and spirituality at the undergraduate and seminary levels while also preaching at local churches.
