Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Peter Waldor's poetry does what the best handmade garments do: it finds the perfect fit between memory, detail, and humanity. Reading him is like discovering a semi-secret Napoleon pocket in your own life - a place for the things you value most. -Al Ribaya, Al's Attire, San FranciscoFerlinghetti wrote that poets, like acrobats, are "constantly risking absurdity." Waldor's work is on a delightful high wire of its own, deftly balancing the micro-local with the universal, the mundane with the magical. The joys of discovery, of chance encounters, of new wrinkles in familiar routines, all create an intimate portrait of the author and of the city he loves. Take your copy on a walk around Waldor's North Beach neighborhood and revel in its wonders for yourself. And keep an eye out for that iconic Fugazi hoodie as you go. -David Dower, Executive Director, Club Fugazi ExperiencesIn Search of Fugazi captures the heart of North Beach and San Francisco in uncanny and moving ways. Of course I am partial to the Foot Worship poem, but the book is also populated with so many other colorful characters that make this city unique. Whether it's Al at Al's Attire fitting a shirt, an acrobat spinning at Club Fugazi, a stranger passing on a subway escalator, or so many others, they all magically come to life. I love these poems! -Xochitl Hernandez, Foot Worship
