Corruption and inefficiency in the bureaucracy are endemic. Recently, the compulsory retirement of some senior bureaucrats has been in, often ill-informed, news. Compulsory Retirement sets out to clear misconceptions, inquire into myths, and allay fears on compulsory retirement. It is hoped that it will be found useful not only by Government officers but also by those in the public sector and autonomous bodies, as well as the legal fraternity.
